As with last year’s inaugural event, this year saw the sun shining down on the morning of our 5k despite the weather being slightly inclement for the week in the run up.  We had a fantastic entry of 300 who took part in the 5k route from the rugby club along the coast.

This year’s men’s winner came home with a comfortable lead established before he came back into the club for the final lap, well done to Buceahu Nicolae coming home in 17:27.  The race for men’s second & third was up for grabs right until the end with Ronan Dunphy powering away from Ben Malone in the final few hundred metres.  Dominic Gilmore and Daniel Kelly completed the top 5 with Daniel also securing the top junior male spot.

In the women’s race Sarah White in 20:30.3 piped Daire Kelly by just 3 seconds in a very exciting race.  Elaine Byrne, Claire Conlon & Deirdre Walls completed the top 5 senior women. Big congratulations to Orla Bollard who won the junior female sport in a time of 20.37

We received fantastic responses from the participants and Skerries Charity Run Club would like to thank the following who helped make the day a great success for our charities:
