- What does the event entail, is it suitable for walkers, joggers, experienced athletes and participants, is there a fun or kids element to it?
- When does it take place, what time is registration/ packet pick up on race day,
- Where does it take place, is the course flat, fast, hilly, off-road, coastal, undulating or has it PB potential?

INIS IRON MEÁIN 2024

Inis Iron Meáin is the original Island road race which continues to impress runners for the past 17 years! This event has been so successful that it has inspired many other communities to stage similar events. ‘Lá an 10K’ is a major social event for Inis Meáin, that sees the return of many familiar faces year after year.
Inis Iron Meáin is cleverly designed, affording participants a choice of 3 courses. All courses follow the same route for the most part. The 5K NOVICE COURSE winds along 5K of spectacular island scenery. The 10K or ‘CÚRSA CRUA’, covers both sides of this beautiful island and the 12K or ‘CÚRSA FÍOR CHRUA’ follows the same route but at roughly the mid-way point, there is a turn-off which takes in a sand dune and beach run. This route then joins up again with the road route after 2 kilometres.
The courses are very well marked and takes in a large part of the island, with spectacular views and variation in terrain. At each kilometre point there are signs indicating the remaining distance to go.
