Beijing bound athletes Paul Hession, David Gillick and Alistair Cragg continued their preparations for the Olympics with top class performances at the Suer Grand Prix meet in Crystal Palace.
All three competed with distinction against world class competition and will head to Beijing full of confidence.
Injury problems prevented Derval O’Rourke from competing in the 100m hurdles.
In Belgium sprnters Kelly Proper and Any Foster had PB’s in the 200m and their times were within the qualifying standards for next year’s European under 23 championships.

Special 5k Road Race in Ballinamore
A special 5K Road race was held in Ballinamore on Friday, August 1st, at 8 pm as part of the local community celebrations that evening to mark the selection of Colin Griffin to take part in the Olympic Games.
The Race was open to all over 14 years, with a particular welcome for joggers and walkers. It was also be part of the Ballinamore AC participation in the AAI Fit4Life programme which is supported by the Irish Sports Council.
There were prizes for Senior men & women, Junior men and women, Over 40 and Over 50 Masters men and women as well as spot prizes for the walking and jogging sections.
Each finisher also received a tee shirt specially designed to mark this unique occasion.
