from AAI website There were several excellent performances at the Munster indoor championships at Nenagh yesterday. Sprinters were out in force with heats, semis and finals needed for senior and junior men.
Jer O’Donoghue came through three rounds of the 60m and said afterwards that this was the first year that he felt really healthy. He improved his time in each round to win the final in 6.91 and is looking forward to the AAI Games and the Irish championships in the Belfast Odyssey.

There was no hanging around for Mark Hanrahan in the senior 1,500m, taking the lead from the gun and going on to win unchallenged in 3:56.45, while Ciaran O’Driscoll Collins, better known over 400m, did likewise to win the senior 800m in 1:58.59.

Keith Maher adopted similar tactics to win the junior 800m in 2:01.26 from the fast finishing Dean Cronin.

One of the closest finishes of the day came in the junior 200m where Chris Russell just held on to win in 22.88 from the fast finishing David Quilligan who went ahead half a stride after the finish. Russell also won the 60m in 7.09.

There was an eye catching win by Edmond O’Halloran in the junior 60m hurdles in a fast 8.46.
