Hello all

from BHAA Summer and holidays are over, evenings are shorter and thoughts are probably turning to longer, tougher races, such as the half-marathon and the Dublin marathon.
Before that, we have the BHAA Pearl Izumi 10km road race at 10.30am on Saturday next, 12 September 2009, at Firhouse Community Centre, Ballycullen Road, Firhouse, Dublin 24.

The first running of this race went well last year and a good crowd is expected this year.
More information, directions and online entry are at www.gersrunning.com.
Next after that will be the BHAA half-marathon which is incorporated within the Lifestyle Sports – adidas race series half-marathon in the Phoenix Park on Saturday 26 September 2009 at 10.00am. Entries for this race can be done only on the race website www.dublinmarathon.ie. The last two races were fully subscribed and entries closed well before race day so if you are going to do this race, you should enter without delay. There will be no entries on the day. When entering, there is a box near the end to indicate that you are a BHAA member so be sure to click on the Yes box.

And then, on the same night, 26 September 2009, the BHAA will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, having been founded in 1979. To mark the occasion, there will be a celebration event at the Alexander Hotel in Dublin city centre with drinks reception, dinner, live music and dancing. Tickets, only €25 each, will be available at Saturday’s race and can also be bought online on the BHAA website www.bhaa.ie.
Best of luck for Saturday’s race.
