The date has been set for the third Galway Memorial Walk, which is expected to be bigger and better than ever this year. The walk takes place on Sunday 14 September and those wishing to take part are being invited to register in advance, with the closing date for registration coming up on Friday, 29 August. As in the case of last year, personalised t-shirts will be made available to those who register by that date.
People of all ages, from all walks of life, have become involved as participants, sponsors or volunteers, all contributing to making the Memorial Walk a truly memorable experience for all involved.
Everyone who takes part in the Memorial Walk has at least one special person in mind, who impacted on their lives in a very personal way, and who, although they are now gone, are impacting on the lives of others through the support given to Galway Hospice through the Memorial Walk.
Proceeds from the Memorial Walk go directly towards funding the Galway Hospice Home Care and Day Care services which cost in excess of €1 million per annum to provide. Without the generosity of the people of Galway these services would simply cease to exist.
