Back when the idea of a photo sharing website was first coming into fruition I wondered how well it would do. 8 months later, 60 odd races featured, with over 12,000 pictures tells me that it’s beginning to take off. By and large the feedback I’ve been getting has been very positive. Over the last few months race photos have started to pop up throughout the country on RacePix365.com – Races from seven different counties appeared in June alone.
The response from various people taking photos at the side’s of races has been great. The majority of people I’ve talked to and mailed have all been more than happy to get their pictures on the site to help with the main goal which is to get the photos into the hands of the athletes involved.
Anyone can play photographer!
Remember RacePix365.com is not limited to “real photographers”. The past few months I’ve been at the sidelines with my wee digital camera that fits in the palm of my hand taking snaps. Photos are accepted from photographers of all standards.
If you’ve got friend’s or family at the a race taking photos of you then stick them up on line, more than likely someone else will be in the photo with you. That photo could end up being their race memento and make their day. With big racing events coming up in the next few months, like the Adidas Race Series in the Phoenix Park, I’d encourage everyone that’s not taking part to go out and cheer on those that are and maybe take a photo or two while you’re at it.
