A Triathlon in the beautiful Galway Bay – Beginners Welcome The second annual COPE Galway Triathlon, supported by Failte Ireland, will take place at 9am on Sunday 13th June 2010 in Salthill, Galway. The event consists of a 750m swim followed by 20 km Cycle and 5km run along the scenic Galway Bay coast line.
The Triathlon is a fund raising initiative for the charity COPE Galway who provide a range of services including a refuge for women and children affected by domestic violence, accommodation for homeless men and women and sustenance and social supports for older people living at home.
Last year was a great success with ‘first timers’ taking part alongside seasoned Triathletes. Sebastien will be organising the weekly training sessions for beginners and improvers in the weeks running up to the event. Keep an eye on the forum on Run Ireland for more details,
Galway Bay is the ideal location for an event like this with breathtaking scenery and all the facilities of Salthill – it’s easy to get to, easy to park and great for spectators.

Water will be available on the course. A cup of warm soup will be served to participants after the event. This service will be provided by the CopeGalway Community Catering Service.
