Valentia Island Triathlon Club is proud to present Valentia Island Cable Half Marathon and 10K 2016. This year we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the first Transatlantic Cable connecting Europe and the Americas . In 1866 the first signals were exchanged between Valentia and Newfoundland. The cable united communities across the Atlantic for the first time and it was the beginning of the information super highway as we know it today.
