The 4th Annual Tonabrucky Challenge will take place on Saturday 7 June at 6pm. This 6km AAI Certified Road Race is open to all runners and walkers over 16! Will you rise to the Tonabrucky Challenge? Rathun an Chaislean Nua Hurling club will host the 4th annual Tonabrucky Challenge on Saturday 7 June at 6pm. The 6km road race which is Athletics Association Ireland (AAI) certificated will take place in the Rahoon area and will incorporate the famous Tonabrucky hill! The club is calling on all runners, walkers and even strollers to take part in the day which will be followed by a family fun evening at the club itself. The cost of entry is €20 for a runner/walker and €5 for a junior entrant. "This is an event that will appeal to everyone. We are asking all runners and walkers from seasoned to beginners to take part. The 6km route will offer a challenge to everyone with a few good hills thrown into the course. There will be prizes for the First Fit for Life person home, the First Man and the First woman. There will also be a Buggy Race so that parents can join in the fun with their young children and a junior Tonabrucky Challenge will be held over 1km! Registration will take place from 5pm in the clubhouse in Tonabrucky and everyone who enters will get a souvenir t shirt. The run/walk section of the race will start at 6pm with Galway first Buggy Race starting at 6:10pm followed by the Junior Tonabrucky Challenge at 6:15pm. All parents with a buggy are invited to take part in this novel and fun activity. After the race there will be a fully catered BBQ and refreshments.
