from Athenry Ac website Athenry AC made a very special presentation to Mick Rice last night at our second organisational meeting for the upcoming Fields of Athenry 10KM on St. Stephen’s Day: an engraved Glycine pocket watch. The watch was ostensibly really to commemorate his participation in the recent IAU World Cup 100KM but also to thank him for his many hours of hard work on behalf of the club and all its members since our founding back in October 2002.
He has been *the* main driving force in the club over all this time. It was also an opportunity to embarrass the life out of the poor fellow, which it succeeded to do very successfully.
Peter Delmer came up with two pages of bullet points i.e. a _This Is Your Athenry AC Life_ presentation and I did the comparing and the presentation.
