Race Routes
10 mile
Travels up through the village past St Brigid’s church before turning around a traffic bollard at about 1 km and coming back through the village. The route then heads from the village towards the famous Ardagh Mountain (Don’t panic, it’s only a small mountain) at about 2 mile. The climb lasts for about 1200m and is quite steep in parts so gauge your effort. After a nice down-hill section the course is quite flat with a few long inclines up to the finish.
The 10 mile route map is available here.
5 Km
The 5 km route is mostly flat or downhill to just after 4km before you climb into the village and towards the finish. A fast time could be on the cards if you have something left for the finish.
The 5km route map is available here.
Race Finish
The finish to both races is located on the village green:
When finished continue forward and follow the road round to the right where you can enter the community centre through the car park back entrance. (Please do not double back over the race route)
Place your race number in the container provided at the finish chute.
10 mile runners collect their specially commissioned medal in the finish chute.
