Dublin City Council 5km Road Race

0

5km race around Irishtown park in Dublin.

This is the seventh Dublin City Council 5k Irishtown race. 264 made it to the finish line in 2010 with John Eves, Paul O’Connell & Paul Duffy the top three men, while Deirdre McDermot, Emma Cooper & Riz Silvano were the first ladies home. This is a fast, flat course with great PB potential.

It’s a downtown race with accessibility by foot/bike from the city centre and also by bus & dart. There is additional car-parking at Clann Na Gael/Fontenoy GAA club on Sean Moore Road for those driving. It has good changing rooms and showers plus the race starts and finishes on the stadium track.

After the initial two track laps, the runners move into the adjacent Ringsend Park for three loops of the paths before returning to the stadium. Refreshments are available afterwards in the main building where there will be a quiz with tons of prizes.

The race starts at 19.30 & judging from previous years & recent race numbers, get there as early as you can to register.
