Belfast will host this year’s event on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May. Over 18,000 runners are expected to hit the streets of the North, South, East and West of the City.
 

The event has grown with the inclusion of new sponsors which now include Deep RiverRock, Belfast City Council, Sport Northern Ireland, Aer Lingus, Daily Mirror, Charles Hurst Renault, Athletics Northern Ireland, Premier Inn Hotel, Translink, New Balance, Up and Running and U105.

The official nominated charities for this year are Marie Curie Cancer Care and Concern Worldwide.

 

Entries will be available from the 10th September 2009 with a final cut-off point for entries on the 16th April 2010. No entries will be accepted after this date. All Marathon, Relay, Wheelchair and Walk Entries received after Friday 26th March will be subject to a £10 late entry surcharge. Any Marathon, Relay, Wheelchair and Walk Entries received between Saturday 10th April and Friday 16th April will be subject to a £20 late entry surcharge. (Any late Fun Run entries will attract a late entry surcharge of £5).

 

The organisers have included a £2,000 bonus to the first male and female athletes to break the records set by Marty Deane in 1985 and Marashet Jumma in 2008.

 

The route will remain the same as the 2009 event; starting at the City Hall and finishing at Ormeau Park.
