BIRR CASTLE 10 K RUN
Fit 2 Run 4 Life a locally based company is hosting a 10 k run on May 14th through the majestic award winning Birr Castle Demesne. This is a new event which will be challenging and an inspirational experience for all. The run will commence on the magnificent Oxmantown Mall before entering the Main gates of Birr castle after a stretch of 200 metres. Thereafter the run will be hosted within the beautiful castle grounds taking in such breathtaking scenery as the Wildflower Meadow, Box hedges, Millennium gardens and the Great Telescopeamong others.
As part of their entry fee participants will receive a day pass to Birr castle Demesne which will afford them the opportunity to spend time in relaxation, enlightenment and discovery.
The 10k run will encompass three circuits of a carefully selected route specifically chosen to showcase the many beautiful features of Birr Castle Demesne. This event promises to be a treat for all involved. The event will be AAI approved and will form the first leg of a new Tri Castle series. The tri castle series includes 3 individual 10k events which will be hosted on the grounds of 3 independent castles.
On completion of the three events the accolade of Lord and Lady of the series will be bestowed on the top male and female over the three events.
The entry fee is € 20.00.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in the open event.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in the over 40’s and over 50’s category.
