Half and Full Marathons on forest trails and village roads in south County Limerick, near the Cork border. The event is organized by the Ballyhoura Bears as part of the Ballyhoura Hill-Walking Festival.

1. Ballyhoura Marathon Challenge
42 km/26.2miles
The pre marked loop through the forest and villages crosses the Cork border to explore the newly developed trail in Glenanaar Valley. On returning over the aptly named “Long Mountain, Seefin and the Wilderness you are invited to enjoy a hot meal back at base camp in Kilfinane Education Centre.

2. Ballyhoura Half Marathon
21km/13miles
Ascend “Castle Gale” via Boreen Darragh Beech Wood Trail. Absorb panoramic views on the descent to join the “Well Stiled” Molanna River Walk. Return through Fox’s farm to refreshments in Maple Ballroom.
