Athletics NI Announce Sport NI Workshops at the Mary Peters Track

0

from Athletcis Northern Ireland Athletics NI are pleased to announce 2 Sport NI courses to be run at the Mary Peters Track in June and July. “Motivation and Mental Toughness” is scheduled for Wednesday 24th June and will help coaches to find out more about their performers and learn positive ways to help them commit to training and perform better in competition. Athletes can learn how to set goals effectively and build confidence and concentration training into your everyday practice.

“Child Protection – Designated Officer” is a 2-part course scheduled for Wednesday 15th and 22nd July. It is designed for your club welfare officer (now mandatory if your club has u-18 or vulnerable adult members), and is the next step in training from the Child Protection Awareness Course that has been run at the track previously.

To apply for these courses please visit the Coaches and Officials section of the website and click in to Coach Education.

If you are interested in these courses but can not make it to the date/venue organised here, please contact Sport Northern Ireland, who run these courses at various venues throughout the year. Please note that costs may vary depending on the organiser.

Please note that there is no further information at present on when the new UKA courses will be implemented, although tutors have began training in delivery of courses. We are still hopeful that a UKCC Level 1 will be in the pipeline over the summer, however please keep an eye on the courses page, as information will be posted there first.
