Narrow Water Estate
Tuesday, 9th August 2011
The Maidens of the Mourne 5/10k races are back for 2011 in the grounds of Narrow Water Castle. The 2010 race saw over 200 runners from all over Newry and Mourne gather to take part in this unique running event. With 2 separate races running alongside each other, the event has something for everyone. The route, by 26 Extreme standards, isn’t too hilly and is entirely off road, running on everything from gravel path to single forest track. It is a loop race with the 5k race doing one lap and the 10k 2 laps.
Whether you’re running for the podium of just for fun, this is a great event that everyone can enjoy.

SPECTATORS
Family and friends are more than welcome to come along to this event to show support for people you know. The familiar voice of someone you know can make all the difference when the legs are burning. Supporters can also add an atmosphere and additional energy to the experience for all the other participants and the crew. We will help advise spectators as to where the best locations are along the route to cheer you on.
