To make the most of your listing we suggest you include as much information as possible within each section of the submission form below. Within the event description section be sure to include as much information as possible so people can make an informed decision about your event.
Suggested Information
- Who is hosting / organising the event, who will the event benefit?
- What does the event entail, is it suitable for walkers, joggers, experienced athletes and participants, is there a fun or kids element to it?
- When does it take place, what time is registration/ packet pick up on race day,
- Where does it take place, is the course flat, fast, hilly, off-road, coastal, undulating or has it PB potential?
- How can people register? Include a booking link to your online registration platform, if you don't have this sorted yet be sure to tick the njuko box below to hear from our partners njuko.com. Special Olympics Ireland are offering you and your cycling friends the opportunity to cycle alongside Irish Cycling legend Sean Kelly at this year’s sixth annual “Sean Kelly Tour of the Midlands” sponsored bb Swift Scaffolding Ltd. and starting and finishing in Tullamore, Co. Offaly on September 30th 2018.
All the proceeds from the tour will go to Special Olympics Ireland, A sports organisation for people with intellectual disabilities, offering year round training and competition opportunities in over 15 sports. Our vision is for every person with a learning disability to have the opportunity to participate in high quality sport and development activities in their local community, that bring life-changing experiences of increased skills, self-confidence and joy. No matter where you’re from in Ireland, you can be sure that there is a Special Olympics Club near you, attended by athletes from your area.
As an added incentive to help raise as much funds for Special Olympics Ireland as we can, any cyclist that raises over €100 for Special Olympics Ireland will receive a bespoke, specially designed cycling jersey signed by Sean Kelly himself.
All signups will receive a Special Olympics Ireland T Shirt.
The Sean Kelly Tour of the Midlands in aid of Special Olympics Ireland offers three events on 30th September catering for advanced, intermediate and leisure cyclists; starting with the 120km Kelly Slieve Bloom, the 80/90km Kelly Cut and the 5km Kelly Family Spin at 11am with all routes marshalled throughout with food and water stops throughout the route and at the finish line. Please see below for a full breakdown of routes available.

The Kelly Slieve Bloom Challenge 120km:
Start time: 8.15am
Registration from 7am
This route takes in two climbs in the Slieve Blooms Mountains.
Route:- Starting from the Tullamore Harriers Centre > Killeigh>Rosenallis>Clonaslee>The Cut (7.2km at 5%)>The Wolftrap (3km at 9%)>Kinnity (Food Stop in Kinnity Community Centre)>Birr> Cloghan>Boora>Blueball> Tullamore >finishing at the Tullamore Harriers Centre.

The Kelly Cut 80km/90km
Start time: 9am
Registration from 8am
This route takes in the flatter roads around the base of the Slieve Blooms, before joining with the 120km route in Kinnity.
Route:- Starting from The Tullamore Harriers Centre>Killeigh>Clonaslee>Kinnity (Food Stop in Kinnity Community Centre)>Birr>Kilcormack> Blueball>Tullamore>finishing at the Tullamore Harriers Centre.
The 90km route will follow the 120km route from the Kinnity food stop.
