Sunday, November 8th will be a Special Day in the Phoenix Park when the
fourth annual Remembrance Run 5k- a Walk, Jog or Run event gives us the
opportunity to honour family members and friends passed, as well as those
close to us who may be struggling with illness or other life challenges.

Remembering Loved Ones at Year’s End
It’s when I go looking back through some old photograph albums that it
really hits home how many family members and close friends I have lost over
the past several years, writes Frank Greally

I see smiling faces of my parents and relatives who
have passed on and the many faded pictures in the albums also conjure for
me warm memories of family and friends who were once a living and breathing
part of my life-both at home and far away.
It’s usually around this time of the waning year that I go browsing through
these old photographs and these days when I run- I remember and celebrate
the memory of so many great spirits who I was fortunate to know over the
course of my lifetime.

I believe that the spirit never dies and we all have a primal need/wish to
be remembered in some special way-if only by one small footprint or warm
memory that says- ‘He/She too passed this way.’

Remembrance Run 5k- the Walk, Jog or Run event organised by Athletics
Ireland in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, November 8th, will give us all an
opportunity to remember in a Special Way family and close friends passed-or
others close to us who may be currently struggling with illness or other
life challenges.
We will also be remembering those most recently passed who had great
affinity with Irish sport- names like Jim Hogan, Eugene Kavanagh, Seamus
Kilcullen, Bill O’Herlihy, Johnny Lyons and Pat Dunne.
Join us in the Phoenix Park on November 8th for a celebration of Life,
Living and Remembrance. Bring your own Special Memories to the Phoenix Park
and write the names of loved ones on the Wall of Remembrance there- before
completing the Remembrance Run 5k. It does not matter how long it takes you
to complete the distance- it’s a day for Remembrance- not about your
Finishing Time. Enter this Unique event Now and enjoy the experience of
taking part.
