2019 Athletics World Championships Barcelona, Doha and Eugene are all bidding to host the 2019 Athletics World Championships, the IAAF has confirmed.
Doha in Qatar and Eugene in the United States both play host to Diamond League events during the season while the Catalan capital hosted the European Championships in 2010.
The three cities submitted their formal applications earlier this year and the IAAF Evaluation Commission – which consists of eight people and is chaired by Sebastian Coe – will visit each of them for two days later this month.
The IAAF Council will decide on the host city in Monaco on November 18 after final presentations by the candidate cities.
Beijing will host the championships next year and the 2017 edition will be held at the Olympic Stadium in London
