Results Published The wind and rain simply added to the challenge at Sunday’s Connemara International Marathon as capacity crowds lined the start lines of the three races. Philip Harty from Waterford AC won the Men’s full Marathon in 2:29:16 which was a remarkable time given the weather conditions. Lezan Kimutai from Kenya won the 39.3 mile Ultra in 4:08:15 with his fellow Kenyan Peter Brandon taking first place in the Half marathon with a time of 1:09:46. Kenyan’s Lezan and Peter ran in Athenry AC vests having joined the club the day before – nice ‘coup’ for Athenry AC!
The Female Ultra race was won by Ruthann Sheehan from Athenry AC in 5:05:29, the Full Marathon saw Janice Whyte from Antrim sweep through the finish in 3:21:23 with Helen Corbett from Galway City Harriers taking first place in the half in 1:09:46.
