Trees, Caves, Castles and more! This guided walk will explore one of the most intresting woods in Ireland. this walk has it all. You wind your way around amazing trails seeking out unique trees along the way. The Cong area is limestone and full of underground activity. With 5 lakes to the North and the majestic Lough Corrib to the South, Cong is the Narrowest point between these great lakes. Cong is an English version of what really is an Gaelic name ‘Cunga’ coming from the word ‘Cung’ or narrow. The effect is a multitude of caves ‘Pigeon Hole’ the Priests Cave, Horse discovery, Kelly’s Cave and Ballymaglancy Cave closer to Clonbur. You will walk a delightful trail twisting and turning which takes you to a fantastic view overlooking Lough Corrib. We will come home via Ashford Castle and a beautiful walk along Cong River.
