What is the start time of the race?

The race starts in waves as follows: 08:40: Wheelchair entrants 08:45: 1st wave 09:05: 2nd wave 09:25: 3rd wave 09:45: Final wave

What are the wave times?

There are 4 wave starts. You will be assigned a wave based on your previous marathon time or an estimated time if you are a first-time marathoner when the entries close.

Where is the start of the race?

The start of the race will be on Fitzwilliam Street Upper.

Can I transfer my number if I can’t run?

No. Do not give or sell your number to anyone else. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in the number being cancelled.

Where do I pick up my RACE / BIB number for KBC Dublin Marathon?

Race numbers (race pack) will be available for collection at the Dublin Marathon EXPO in the Main Hall of the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) on Friday 25th from 12pm to 7pm and Saturday 26th October between the hours of 9am and 7pm.

What is the Pace Team for Dublin City Marathon?

Following the success of the pacers over the past few years we have included them again this year. There will be pacers for the following times: 3.00, 3.10, 3.20, 3.30, 3.40, 3.50, 4.00, 4.10, 4:20, 4.30 4:40, 4:50 and 5.00. They will run the race at a steady effort throughout, and aim to finish a few seconds under each time band. To be paced by them during the race, just turn up at the start, look for the runners wearing backpacks with large flags, and stand behind the corresponding time.

Where are the water stations on the route?

Water will be provided at 10 locations (see route map) in 250Ml Water bottles.

What are the markers on the route?

Markers will be at each mile on the Route and every 5KM will also be marked.

Can I use a water pack or vest during the race?

They will only be allowed in restricted circumstances and must be sanctioned by the organisers at the time of entry, also, all packs or equipment will be subject to detailed search and examination at the point of entry to the start zone. Packs for Medical needs will be allowed, subject to inspection.

What bag can I bring into the baggage area?

Only the clear plastic bags provided to you at Registration will be allowed into the Baggage Area. Again, all bags will be subject to inspection.

Medical Services on Race Day

If you do need any of the medical services on the day we have a highly experienced medical team in place. Festimed provides the first aiders and help with issues such as Vaseline and abrasion injuries. They will also be managing the first aid tents, and ambulances. For more seriously unwell runners we have a team of doctors (depending on the mileage involve in the Race Series); advanced paramedics, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, cardiac first responders and nurses working in conjunction with the Festimed Team. These are highly skilled and qualified personnel working under the direction of Medical Director.

According to Met Eireann the outlook for the weather for the KBC Dublin Marathon looks mostly dry bright and sunny, with just the odd light shower on the north coast. Top temperatures 9 to 11C., in light to moderate north to northwest breezes.
