None Wicklow Triathlon Club is delighted to announce the opening of the inaugural ‘Beast of the East’ Triathlon, which will take place in Wicklow on Saturday the 19th July 2008. The ‘Beast’ is set to become Ireland’s toughest Olympic distance triathlon races.
Set in a stunning glacial valley, the race starts with 1.5km swim in Lough Dan. Competitors will then transition to their bikes for a challenging 40km cycle through the hills of Wicklow. The final leg is a tough 10km run out of the valley and back.
If you feel you have what it takes to tame the beast, then you can log on to www.wicklowtri.com for race and entry details. The first 200 places are available from the 9th May with a further 100 places becoming available 1 week later. Some parking will be available and friends and spectators are welcome.
