A bunch fillers perspective on the Munster running scene ‘We need to talk about running’ is a new publication inspired by the observations and experiences of the author on a years running around Munster. The work, in E-book format is predominantly based on the running scene interspersed with foray’s into his past life of cycle racing and triathlons and interesting comparisons between all three.

The book is available on amazon and can be got by clicking on the link below. Although more a social commentary than a training log, there are many hint’s and tip’s floating between the lines.

Starting out at the Dungarvan 10 mile, any reader who has put their toe on the line will empathise with the feelings described here. an evocative piece on the season opening Lacey cup cycle race from a couple of years back will make you feel like you were there. For Run Ireland readers however the icing on the cake must be ‘Welcome to the club’, an excellent piece about the emotions of a first time marathon runner and what it’s like to ‘blow your lights’. Interesting pieces on his transition from bike racing to triathlon and how a trip down under introduced him to the world of swim, bike, run.

This is just a snippet of what I’d love to see in print on the bedside locker. Open any page and start reading. If you’ve ever tied up a pair of running shoes and gone for a run, you’ll enjoy this.
