from AAI website Athletics Ireland is pleased to announce a new level 3 course for 2008/9. Candidates must have achieved level 2 and be a currently active coach. The course will have some core modules spread over 3 contact weekends. Additionally candidates will be required to complete attendance at event specific development workshops of their choices in an agreed personalised self development plan. This self development plan will address the gaps in the coaches own experiences and knowledge and give the coach the opportunity for event specific technical development. This approach to coach development is a unique development focusing on what each specific coach needs as well as on some common knowledge that all high peroformance coaches require.
The course is aimed at coaches who are interested in coaching at senior level and working with high performance athletes. The first contact weekend will take place in Limerick on the 13th and 14th of December. Places are strictly limited to ensure that those who do attend get the most value from the experience. It is open to coaches of all event groups and more details are available by contacting [email protected] or calling Gary Ryan on 0879830570
