ULRC Run Series is a 5K race series that takes place on the beautiful campus of the University of Limerick. This years Spring Run Series begins on Thursday February 12th 2015 and runs weekly until Thursday 16th April 2015 (excluding April 2nd) for a total of 9 races. The event is now in its 6th year and is the main fundraising event for the University of Limerick Rowing Club. ULRC Run Series was started in September 2009 by a number of enthuastic UL rowers who wanted to help to raise some much needed funds for UL Rowing Club. Since then it has grown and went from strength to strength so that it is now the main fundraising event for ULRC each year! ULRC Run Series began as a 10K event run for 5 weeks in the autumn but since then the series has grown and with increased demand for a slightly shorter event and to expand its appeal, the format was changed to a 5K event and the number of events increased from 5 at the beginning of the series to 19 a year run both in the winter and in the spring. The funds raised by this series go to help support the club and its rowers competing at both the national and international level but also and more fundamentally at a grass roots level to help attract and support newcomers to the sport in their instruction and their training and also to insure that they have the best equipment and coaching available.
