Tricarrick-on-shannon Tri Sprint – Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim

TriCarrick-on-Shannon features a very spectator friendly course in the town of Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim. While supporters are welcome to cheer on athletes all along the course (please remember the road closures), the heart of the action near transition and the Landmark Hotel provides the best spectator experience.

750m Swim

The swim will take place in the calm waters of the Shannon River. From the starting point, competitors will swim under the bridge linking County Leitrim to County Roscommon, around a buoy and to the exit point, where competitors will sprint 100meters to the transition area.

22km Cycle

The bike course takes competitors out of the town and onto narrow, winding country roads, with a slight incline! The course then links up through Leitrim Village and back onto the main road to Carrick-on-Shannon

5km Run

The final part of the test will take competitors out of the town and loop through the back roads of Carrick-on-Shannon and finish by the Shannon in the town centre.

TriCarrick-on-Shannon is a Triathlon Ireland (TI) sanctioned event and a one day license is required to take part in the event. Please note that if you are not already a member of TI you will need to buy a one day license that is priced at €15 per license.
