Sperrin Duathlon 30th January Following the success of their first year in 2009, Trilimits are hoping to provide another action-packed year in 2010. Last year saw 5 races in total and this year promises to deliver even more. For this year, Trilimits hope to bring you Duathlons, Triathlons and even a half-ironman is in its final stages of confirmation.
Kicking off proceedings on 30th January 2010 will be the Sperrin Duathlon, the race starts at 12pm with sign on taking place from 10 – 11.30am in the car park beside the Lough. Free car parking facilities are also provided nearby.
Now for the fun bit – The Sperrin Duathlon will consist of 2.5 mile flat run around Lough Fea with the nearby mountains providing an ideal backdrop. In the transition athletes will be faced with an out and back course leading to a 10 mile bike course. For the first 5 miles of the bike athletes will endure of a series of rolling hills, followed by 5 miles of steady climb. This then leads to final 2.5 mile run back in around the scenic Lough.
After the race some warm refreshments will be provided on site.
This course has been deemed the “Hardest Duathlon Course in Ireland” by last years competitors so why not check it out!
