from Donore Harriers Donore’s John Travers did extremely well when he took part in the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland today. John represented Ireland in the .Junior Men’s 8,000m and finished 59th in 24:44 minutes. It was a great performance and he was the 9th European to cross the line. Congratulations John. The race was won by Caleb Mwangangei Ndiku of Kenya in 22:07. The team results were again dominated by the Africa countries with Kenya placing first with 10 points followed by Ethiopia, 32 and Uganda with 56. Meanwhile DSD’s Linda Byrne competed in the senior woman’s race where she finished 69th in 27:56.
