Tough Mudder Ireland took place over 2 days on July 9th and 10th in Loughcrew Adventure Centre, Co. Meath. Over 4,000 enthusiastic participants ran, pushed, jumped, slipped and splashed through over 10 miles of the muddiest obstacle course ever seen in the events history.
The ultimate spectator sport, Tough Mudder was watched by a series of astounded spectators cheering on their friends and colleagues on 2 different spectators routes right through to the finish line.
Taking on the challenge like absolute legends over the weekend were boxer Bernard Dunne, model Roz Purcell, Today FM presenter Fergal Darcy and 4FM’s Barbara Nic Dhonnacha. Fergal Darcy rated it the ‘best experience ever’ and is already planning for next year’s challenge. The overall spirit of the event is one of camaraderie, teamwork and 100% fun from start to finish.
Charities were well represented including a huge team from Galway, Project Impact led by Pat Divilly. There were many more fun-loving groups in and out of fancy dress including a ‘Team Brexit’, countless superhero costumes and a fabulous group of Welsh friends, resplendent in matching yellow tutus!
There was a Fruit Shoot Mini-Mudder for kids, who couldn’t wait to get covered from top to toe in mud for their own special kids obstacles. Resulting in, ironically, good clean fabulous family fun.
