When you receive your 2009 membership card, can you please check to ensure that you have received the correct card. eg. If you applied for Full membership, please ensure your card reads “Full Membership”. If you have receive the incorrect card, please contact our office immediately by sending an email to administrator@triathlonireland.com

AGE GROUP SELECTION 2009
All information for Age Group Selection Races for the World and European Triathlon & Duathlon Championship races in 2009 are now available online – please click on “Selection” from the menu on the home page of our website for further details.
Duathlon European Championships, Budapest, Hungary
Applications have now closed for the Duathlon European Championships being held in Budapest 23-24 May 2009.

Triathlon European Championships, Holten Netherlands
Applications are now closed. All successful applicants should have received an email regarding the race fees and how to purchase kit. We would ask that any applicants who have not received this email, to please send an email to administrator@triathlonireland.com.

Long Distance Triathlon European Championships, Prague Czech Republic
Applications close 28th April 2009.

We have received interest in setting up a club in the North Fingal area (Donabate, Portrane, Rush, Lusk, Skerries). If you would like to be involved in setting up a club here, please send an email to administrator@triathlonireland.com.

Fingal Junior Aquathlon: 3D Tri are pleased to announce their junior aquathlon on 17th May.

Trilogy’s Junior Aquathon: Entries are now open for the Trilogy Junior Aquathon (National Junior Championships 2009), being held on 13th June, with four aged-based race distances catering for junior racers aged 9-19. Taking place at the start of the Summer Holidays from school (Saturday 13 June), entrants will complete a swim of between 150m and 750m at Portlaoise’s new leisure centre, before racing around the centre’s ground to complete a run of between 1km and 5km. The cost of entry for all is just €5.00 and each finisher is guaranteed a goody bag, t-shirt, medal and certificate. Galway Triathlon (Carna): Entries for the Galway Triathlon being held on 25th July are now open.

Ballina PowerAde Salmon Triathlon: Entries are now open for the Ballina PowerAde Salmon Run Triathlon. This years event will be limited to 200 participants (including 15 relay teams). This Sprint Triathlon is now in its fourth year and opens with the swim section taking place in the famous salmon fishing pools of the River Moy in the centre of Ballina. Registration for the Ballina PowerAde Salmon Run Triathlon is only online at www.liquidmotion.ie.

Crooked Lake Triathlon: Crooked Lake Triathlon is now open for on-line registration. Numbers are limited. Big interest expected so register early is the advice.

SRAM Hook or By Crook Triathlon: Entries are now open for the SRAM Hook or By Crook Triathlon being held on 20th June.

Tri-to-Beat Cancer Triathlon: Entries are now open for the Tri-to-Beat Cancer Triathlon.

Youghal Triathlon: Entries are now open for Youghal Triathlon.

All Ireland Metal Man Triathlon: Entries are now open. .

Beast of the East: Entries for the Beast of the East are now open.

Triathlone: Entries are now open for the Waterways Ireland TriAthlone.

Northwest Sprint/Liam Ball Triathlon:

Wicklow Tri Amphibian King Aquathon Series 09:

Gatorade Dublin City Tri: The Gatorade DCT 09 is now open for entries. The race fee this year will be 50euro – this is for the third year running! There will also be a “Super Sprint” in parallel with this year’s race for beginners and new-to triathlon. The distance will be slightly below a standard sprint distance.

Eireman Olympic, Middle & Long Distance Triathlon: The website for Eireman, being held on 23rd August ’09 is now live.

Eireman X: Entries for Eireman X being held on 10th May are now open. The first 100 entries get a groovier T-Shirt). Bring old gear as you will be getting wet and muddy!

Fingal Sprint Triathlon: Entries for the Fingal Sprint Tri being held on Sunday 17th May are now open. .

The Rock Duathlon: Entries for the Rock Duathlon, organised by 3-Rock Triathlon Club in Ashford Co. Wicklow, being held on 26th April are now open.

TriAthy: Entries are now open for TriAthy being held on 30th May. This offers both an Olympic and Sprint distance race over the familiar course in Athy, Co. Kildare.

North Tipp Sprint Triathlon: Entries for the North Tipp Sprint Triathlon are now open. Places Available – 240. Online registration only. Cost – €35.

DublinTri – Kilcock Entries are now open at www.dublintri.com and to see the competitors cycling jersey . Both age-group and draft-legal waves are open.

DublinTri – Skerries: Entries are now open at www.dublintri.com and to see the competitors cycling jersey .Both age-group and draft-legal waves are open.

OTHER NOTICES
Focus Ireland Fundraising Triathlon Committee Members Required
Focus Ireland need your expertise to help deliver an outstanding triathlon at Grand Canal Square in 2009. We are currently looking for new members to join the Focus Ireland Triathlon race organisers committee. Committee members are needed in the following areas (1) assistant swim marshal (2) course set up marshal (3) transition area marshal (4) volunteer marshal. We need your expertise before the event and your help during set up on Sat August 1st and race day on Sunday August 2nd. Focus Ireland will make all arrangements with 3rd parties for the event and will have a team of volunteers to work with you on set up and on race day.
The Focus Ireland Triathlon aims to raise €200,000 to help people who are homeless, here at Focus Ireland we know all about fear and despair, we have seen the heartbreak and misery that confronts many people who become homeless. You can help lift that fear and despair by volunteering your expertise and time to help the most marginalized men, women and children in our society.
