New course, without off road cycling ! The Harlequin Adventure Duathlon, will take place in three weeks on Saturday 24th of March 2012 with a start time of 9.00 am. This race is a mix of running, cycling and mountain running, very much like the famous Gael force or Sea To Summit events. Castlebar is the town hosting this equally stunning and challenge event.

The run will take place along the picturesque Lough Lannagh ,onto the undulating/hilly roads of Rathbawn for the 2nd cycling section and the tortuous hill run up to the booster station (Glenisland) that overlooks Castlebar, the views up at the booster station are spectacular, as these can be seen on the downward descent to collect the bike for the final 15k cycle back to Castlebar via Glenisland, to finish of the race competitors have a final 3k dash back to the line outside the Harleuqin Hotel for a total distance of 36 kilometres. This event is open to all abilities with the fastest expected to cross the finish line at around 11am in a time under hours.

 

This event could not take place with out the support of the Local Gardai, Civil Defence, Mayo County Council and Town Council. Numbers are filling fast with a limit of 350 entries only allowed. For more information on Registration go to www.runireland.com or email [email protected]

Fit4Life Mini Duathlon : 3k run, 5km cycling, 3km walk/run
