Sponsor Joannes 700,000 steps Joanne Ui Chrualaoich will run from Malin to Mizen Head in just 5 days running a total of 350 miles or approximately 700,000 steps in an attempt to set new World Guinness Record. This equates to 70 miles or almost 3 marathons per day. Joanne will be the first woman to attempt this challenge. She has previously run 41 standard marathons, 11 ultra marathons and 5 Ironman triathlons as well as the Sahara Race often referred to as “the Worlds toughest foot race”.
Joanne is doing this to raise much needed funds for the Carers Association. “People look at the endurance events that I do and they think these are special feats, yet there are thousands of carers out there working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without support or recognition. The Carers Association provides vital services to these carers and I cannot think of a more deserving cause” says Joanne.
The Carers Association are asking people to sponsor Joanne’s steps and aim to raise € 1 for every 10 steps Joanne runs with an ambitious target of € 70,000.
Steffani-Jade McDonagh local centre manager with The Carers Association in Limerick says “this is an amazing challenge to undertake and we are delighted and honoured that Jo would do it on our behalf”. “We are hoping that businesses, carers and the public will come out and join Jo on her route and support us through sponsorship or donations”.
