Take Part in The International Survey For Runners

Are you a runner? Are you over 18 years of age? Is running your primary sport?

If the answer is yes, then we’re guessing that you’ll be just as interested in this survey as we are.

International Survey For Runners

Dr. Joe Warne is an active researcher and lecturer in the area of running science, as well a former international athlete.

He is coordinating one of the first large-scale international surveys on running injury and footwear choices of recreational runners.

This is in collaboration with Indiana University (USA), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Deakin University (Australia), as well as Technological University Dublin where Dr. Warne is based. Each of the researchers is considered as one of the world experts in running footwear and biomechanics.

How Will the Survey Work?

The survey intends to capture data on runners worldwide, where different factors that may predispose an athlete to injury can be examined, such as running habits, footwear choices, psychological factors, and others.

It is expected, that with the right support, it can become one of the largest worldwide studies conducted to date. It is unique in that there is a specific focus on footwear choices and comfort rating, and that the data gathered will be from a diverse range of runners, given the international nature of the study.

Who Can Do The Survey?

The study is targeting recreational runners, who are over 18 years of age. Dr. Warne is appealing for 500 European respondents.

The survey is a little long, taking 25 mins (at most!) to complete but you could reap the rewards later when the results are gathered and studied to figure out and understand injury prevalence and risk in runners.

The project comes with full ethical approval from all four countries, and has been validated by research experts in this field.
