This year, Swinford Triathlon Club are organising four events, The Humbert Half Iron, Humbert Half Iron Relay, Humbert Half Iron Duathlon, The Humbert Sprint and The Humbert Sprint Relay

This event comprises of a 1900 metre swim, followed by a 90km cycle and finishing with a 22km run. The swim will take place around the scenic shores of Callow followed by the 90 km cycle located over a very scenic and challenging course

The cycle starts at Transition 1, Callow. The first 30km is set over rugged terrain with a number of drags, the most challenging of which is the steep 200 metre climb of The Windy Gap. This is followed by a 10 km descent into Castlebar and then onto a relatively flat course into Parke, downhill into Turlough and then onto the N5 into Swinford and back to transition 2 at Swinford. This route provides the competitor with a variety of challenges – the long slow drags at Pontoon, the steep mountain climb on the Windy Gap and the flat speedy surface along the N5.

Following the cycle, the run will commence at transition 2 at Swinford and proceed through Meelick, onto Straide, Bohola and back to the finish in Swinford town.

This event is open to relay teams comprising of either two or three members.
