The Streets of Portlaoise 5k Road Race takes place on Thursday 17th March 2016 at 11.30am. Last year saw over 550 runners take part in this fast race which runs through Portlaoise town. Registration is €15 and participants can register online at www.popupraces.ie or on the day from 9.00am in the Heritage Hotel Portlaoise. Over €2,000 in cash prizes. Top prizes for first 5 senior male and female and the following race categories O/40, O/45, O/50 & first Junior male/female (U/20). Also course record cash prizes for both male (14:52) & female (17:00).

Registration on line or on the day in the Heritage Hotel Portlaoise from 9.00am. Registration will close at 11.00am on the day. Race numbers can be collected on race day from 9.30am. Changing facilities, refreshments and prize giving in the hotel after race. The 5K route begins and ends on Main Street Portlaoise. There will also be 3 Juvenile Fun Runs prior to the main race. U.7 @ 10:30, U. 10 @ 10:40, U. 12 @10.50. All children will receive a goodie bag that consists of a medal, Easter egg, bottle of water. Registration for Children’s race is €2 and also takes place in the Heritage Hotel on the day.
A donation will be made by the Club to a chosen local charity.
