Hosted by Slaney Olympic AC. Reduced Entry Fees The fifth Strawberry Half Marathon takes place on 8th June. As usual there will also be a 5 Mile race and a 15K Walk. The event is hosted this year by Slaney Olympic AC as a club fundraiser. It offers great value for money with pre-entry for the half marathon only €25 and just €15 for the other two distances.
Jane and Graham Porter who head the club’s race committee guarantee the same professional standard event as previously. All finishers receive a medal and a specially commissioned Strawberry mug (some of you may remember that we had a mug in 2010, the first year of the race). There will also be tea/coffee in the Riverside Park Hotel after the race. RedTag timing will provide the chip timing and there will be pacers in the half marathon at 1.30, 1.45 and 2 hours. We will also have music and race commentary at the start/finish area which is on the Promenade on the banks of the River Slaney. We have a very generous prize fund.
