Press release Martin Fagan takes on Mo Farah and Luke Kibet in
BUPA Great South Run in Portsmouth this Sunday

Irish half marathon record holder Martin Fagan from Mullingar Harriers aims to build on his impressive victory two weeks ago in the Boston Half Marathon when he tackles the BUPA Great South Run in Portsmouth this Sunday (25th October). The Run is Europe’s largest 10 mile race with 21,000 runners.

Fagan ran 62 minutes 21 seconds in Boston and set the Irish half marathon record of 60 minutes 57 seconds in the Netherlands in March this year.

In Portsmouth Fagan will face a strong field led by Britain’s top distance runner, and 2006 European Cross Country Champion, Mo Farah as well as Luke Kibet of Kenya, the World Marathon Champion in 2007.

In April this year, Fagan finished in third place in the Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park. He hopes to go two better in the Great Ireland Run on April 18th next year. Entries are already open online for the event at www.greatirelandrun.org
