Rotterdam Marathon – Irish results (see https://www.marathonrotterdam.org/report-2013/results):
Men – Tom Hogan (SBR 2:28.38, Bernard Roe (Raheny Shamrock) 2:30.45, Jason Reid (Rathfarnham WSAF) 2:31.15, Simon Reede (Raheny Shamrock, M35) 2:32.14, Brian Leahy 2:33.32, Colm Moore 2:34.01, Robert Staunton (Gal;way) 2:37.15..

Women – Barbara Sanchez (Raheny Shamrock, W35) 2:38.36, Clare Gibbons McCarthy (St Finbarr’s) 2:43.15 (1st W35), Fiona Stack (Ballyshannon) 2:54.31.

Controversially, Athletics Ireland imposed an A standard on 2:13 for men and 2:32 for women for the World Championships although it seems likely that B standards of 2:17 for men and 2:36 for women will be accepted with only one man and one woman travelling.

The selection deadline is for the 19th of May.

Barbara Sanchez, after her second place in Craughwell 10 miles with a new personal best in 57min44 she achieved another personal best with 35min25 at the Eamon Moloney Memorial 10km in Ennis.

Despite her injury since Dublin Marathon and her great performance in Sevilla Barbara Sanchez hope to qualify for the World Championship in August in Moscow.

She already reached the European Qualification criteria and hope to be part of the Irish team.
