Sahara Race (Egypt) 2012

0

The Sahara Race is a six stages, seven-day, 250-kilometer self-supported footrace. Each individual must carry his or her own gear, food and clothing in a backpack. The only assistance provided is water (plenty), tents and medical assistance.

It is part of the 4 Deserts, named by TIME magazine as one of the Top 10 Endurance Competitions in the world.

During the event, competitors cross through The Valley of the Whales — an ancient shallow sea used to cover this area, and competitors pass fossils that are believed to be whales with legs that died 40 million years ago.
