
Run Today, Save a Life Tomorrow The inaugural Run for a Life fun run in aid of the organ transplant units at Beaumont Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and Mater Misericordiae hospital will take place on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 in Blessington, Co .Wicklow.
The fun run, comprising a 3km walk/run, a 6km walk/run or a 6km walk/run and a 15km cycle will start at 2 p.m. A limited number of bicycles will be provided for free on a ‘first come- first served’ basis. Families are welcome to attend. Those interested in taking part should register online at www.runforalife.ie.
The Run for a Life fun run will take start at the Avon Rí Blessington Lakeshore Hotel in Blessington, Co Wicklow. Entertainment will be provided and food served afterwards. There is no age limit to participate in the run, walk or cycle, but children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. A registration fee of €15 applies and all funds raised will be donated to the organ transplant units at Beaumont, St Vincent’s University Hospital and Mater Misericordiae hospital.
The fun run event aims to raise public awareness about the need for organ donation in Ireland and carries the message “Run Today, Save a Life Tomorrow”.
