Run Galway Bay Marathon SOLD OUT but limited places still available for the Half and 10K

Don’t miss out on this scenic Run in Galway – October 3rd Although the Full Marathon is sold out there are still places available in the Half Marathon and the 10K but this event usually does sell out a few weeks ahead of the date so don’t leave it too late to book. Race Director, Ray O’Connor, is optimistic that everyone who wants to should get to run this year. “We hate turning runners away especially when many of them have trained on the Salthill Prom specifically for this race. So last year we tested a slightly different start area and it worked really well so we are increasing the number of entries this year to facilitate 3,000 finishers’. That’s also good news for local charity Cancer Care West who receive 5 Euro from every entry.

According to the event website – breathtaking, amazing, spectacular, friendly and fun are just some of the words used by participants when describing this unique event. What makes it unique? The course straddles the quaint Latin Quarter of Galway City, the famous Claddagh Quay and the majestic coast road with it’s panoramic views of the Burren in County Clare across the Atlantic waters of Galway Bay – very few marathons worldwide can boast such a pretty mix of scenic views.
