Thanks to the huge number of runners and walkers who turned out this evening for the St. Johnston/Carrigans 5k, the first time the race has been included in the Donegal Grand Prix series. Over 230 athletes took to the starting line, with many from the locality taking part – our ambition to bring road racing into the heart of our local communities certainly achieved tonight.
Well done to all who took part and thank you sincerely for your support. Thanks to the organising committee, everyone who marshalled the course, and to those who made sandwiches and served refreshments after the race. A big thank you to Kildrum Tigers FC for the use of their facilities and parking and to Maurice Toland and the Fishermans Inn for providing an excellent venue for the post race presentations.
Well done to all our category winners, with over €800 in prize money paid out on the night.
