– Danny Mc Daid 15k The final race in the Outfield Sports/Asics 3 Counties Challenge took place in Carrick on Suir on friday 8th August .The Carraig Hotel”Deadman’s 5″ mile Roadrace was won by Sergiu Turea of Clonliffe Harriers,setting a new course record of 24:48 in the process. Second place went to last years winner ,Ravis Zakis of West Waterford A.C. , while Shane Mullaney of Thurles Crokes was third. This win also ensured that Sergiu won the overall Race Series in the Mens section.
It was a similar story in the womens section, with Corina Walsh of West Waterford A.C. winning both the race and overall series title,in a time of 30:07. Madeline Dorney of Thurles Crokes was second and Laura Behan (KCK) was third.
In total 160 runners started the race, which was a record for a Carrick on Suir A.C. Race. Thanks to all runners and Sponsors who supported this years series. Hope to see you again next year!
