will take place in Raphoe this Sunday 27th January with a start time of 10am. Nearly 250 athletes turned out on a bitterly cold morning last week in St. Johnston for the first 5k race in the series which was won by Finn Valley’s Dean Toland, and the womens race by Lifford AC’s Ann Marie McGlynn. With points being awarded at each race towards an overall prize fund of nearly €1500, expectations are that big numbers will turn out this weekend again when the race moves to Raphoe. An added attraction of the series this year is a one mile race for juveniles from Under 9’s through to Under 15, making each race a family focused day out.
All athletes competing last weekend are automatically pre-registered for this week’s race. New entrants for this week can register on line at liffordac.com or contact Brendan on 086-6007847 for further information.
Run, walk or jog, make it a healthy start this Sunday morning.
Race entry is only €5 for adults, with a fee of €3 for the juvenile mile. Number collection and registration on the morning of the race will be in the Deele College Hall from 9am with changing and shower facilities on site. The course has also been officially measured by the Donegal Athletics Board for accurate times.
Thanks to everyone who has registered so far and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning.
Regards
