0

from Georgia MacMillan After the success of its Triathlon in August 2009, Pulse Triathlon Club is launching the “Hollingsworth-Pulse Aquathlon Series” in the picturesque village of Clogherhead, Co Louth with the inaugural race on 11th May 2010. The sport of Triathlon is rapidly growing in Ireland and is no longer deemed to be for just the elite or superfit athletes. Pulse Triathlon Club proudly encourages newbies into the sport and believes that the new Aquathlon series is the perfect introduction for those wanting to “dip their toes” into a multi-discipline sport. The aquathlon will comprise of a 750m sea swim at the Harbour (with views for spectators that Croke Park would die for), followed by a 5km run to Clogherhead Beach and back.
The village of Clogherhead has welcomed the race series (11th May, 8th June & 17th July) and the last race date has been organised in conjunction with the revived “Prawn Festival” held in the village and promises lots of crowd support and local hospitality.

The Aquathlon Series will lead upto the 2nd Annual Triathlon hosted by Pulse at Port Beach, Clogherhead – “Hollingsworth-Pulse Triathlon” set for 7th August, which allows a perfect training period for newcomers to the sport.

The Race Series is proudly sponsored by Hollingsworth Cycles in Dublin.
Entry is open to all over 16 years of age and information can be found on www.pulsetri.com
