Are you up for a Challenge ? The Croghan Hill Challenge is a 10k, 5k & 3k Adventure race/obstacle course on the slippery slopes of an extinct Volcano rising out of the bog of Allen in the heart of Ireland.
Croghan Hill is situated in north Offaly just 20 minutes from Tullamore and Mullingar. Since the course was opened it has been used by local GAA, Soccer and Rugby teams as a team bonding trip. The main event In June 2011 drew crowds of hundreds. You will face obstacles such as The Chu Chi Tunnel, The Croghan Bogman, The Rope Bridge, The Quincy Slippery Slide, The Great Wall, The Sky Jump, The Machu Pichu Steps and Anna’s Mud Bath amongst others concluding in the famous Sheep Dipper.
The 2012 Croghan Hill Challenge takes place on the 16th of June and registrations are flowing in fast. There is currently an early bird entry fee of €15 (Normally €25). You can enter a team of 4 and also there are prizes for fancy dress. There will be entertainment and surprise guests on the day. Food and refreshments will be available and picnic areas with fantastic views, so bring all the family. Parking will be available for free and fully stewarded.
