Hundreds Run for Freedom in Galway Preda Galway would like to thank all those who supported the 2013 Run for Freedom in Ballybrit Racecourse last Saturday. Hundreds of runners took advantage of the fresh Spring weather to take part in Preda’s 5k Run for Freedom on the grounds of the famed Ballybrit racecourse.

A strong field took part in this enjoyable event. John Maloney and the Galway Race Committee ensured the smooth running of the event supporting our work. It was refreshing to see people of all ages and athletic abilities taking the opportunity to improve their fitness while enjoying time with their family and friends.

The run made a great profit and Fr. Shay and his team asked to pass on their heartfelt thanks for the participants, sponsors and supporters impacting so positively on the lives of the many children being rescued by Preda. Just 60 euro can pay for the legal fees to free a child from an adult prison. The money raised will be used to help give the children rescued by Preda the future in life that they were denied as well as helping to raise awareness as to the work of Preda on a national level. Damien Dempsey and Catherina McKiernan were delighted with how successful the event went and have promised to return again and support the work being done by Preda Galway and its many supporters who ran with us on Saturday. Hope to see you all again at Ballybrit in 2014 for our next Run for Freedom!
